Josh Duhamel and Fergie Welcome Baby Axl

Josh Duhamel and Fergie have added a new member to their family. Axl Jack Duhamel was born at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on August 29, 2013. Axl was born in one of the same high-end birthing suites that other celebrities have used in the VIP wing of the hospital. He was reported to weigh 7 pounds 10 ounces. Little Axl was named after the lead singer of the band Guns ‘N Roses, Axl Rose. Fergie has been a long time fan of the band, and even sang with guitarist Slash at the 2011 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Both new parents are thrilled with their new arrival, and are looking forward to parenthood. This is the first child for both Fergie and Duhamel. Duhamel, who is famous for his role in “Safe Haven”, sang to his wife during the delivery of Axl. He told E! News that he did this because “they say they’ll recognize your voice when they come.”

Fergie, the lead singer for the Black Eyed Peas, is recovering nicely from the c-section delivery. She remains in the VIP section of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles as she recuperates, and spends time with her newborn. It was not reported when she is expected to be released from the hospital.

Good news: Fergie announced that she was expecting her first child with her husband of three years back in February and tweeted childhood pictures of her and Josh, giving a glimpse as to what their child might look like
