Morgue Body Cooler Goes on Sale on Ebay
It certainly isn’t your garden variety refrigerator, but it does work and it will get the job done. A morgue cooler to keep bodies fresh has gone on sale on EBay.
The refrigerator is said to be in “used” but “good” condition showing signs of “cosmetic wear” but do not fear – that doesn’t mean any human body parts are staining the item. What makes the item all the more unique is that it has been used by the country psychiatric ward.
A spokeswoman for the state Office of General Services, which sells unwanted government goodies, admits she’s never seen anyone sell a morgue fridge.
“Every once in a while, we get an unusual item — and this would be that,” said spokeswoman Heather Groll.
It is capable of storing four bodies but an imaginative person may find the body racks a unique way to get access to food contents such as meat and other perishables.
The item is 8-ft by 6-ft in terms of height and width. It is fetching bids and just past the $200 mark after its first day listed.
There won’t be any delivery for this item. It’s for local pick-up only and will very likely not have a return policy.
The buyer is asked to conduct a thorough examination of the unit before bidding. Due to its sheer size it will have to be taken apart in order to be removed from the premises. The dismantling process is bound to reveal some interesting discoveries.
