Friends and Family Show Concern of Jorge Garcia’s Weight

Jorge Garcia spent six years on ABC’s hit cult drama Lost. He played Hugo “Hurley” Reyes one of the passengers stranded after a plane crash. That show wrapped up in 2010 but Garcia hasn’t stopped working. Garcia is still winning roles and has two films being released this year. He’s co-starring in Cooties alongside 40 Rock star Jack McBrayer and stars alongside Michael Fassbender in a dramatic comedy titled Frank.

Garcia has always been rotund but recently his weight has ballooned to well over 400 pounds and private sources say that Garcia’s friends and family are becoming worried about his health. Family is reportedly concerned that his rapid weight gain will lead to such weight related illnesses as diabetes or heart disease. The sources later went on to say that they would like Garcia to consider a weight loss surgery such as the lap band procedure that New Jersey governor Chris Christy underwent last year.

The now 40-year-old weighty actor made the rounds recently promoting his new movies at the Sundance Movie festival in Park City, Utah. In photos snapped at the festivals events Garcia was seen partaking in various events that showed him consuming plenty of food and having some drinks. Garcia hasn’t reacted to published reports of his family’s concerns.
