Cuban-American actress Eva Mendes turns 40 years old today, but with her Latin genes, she still looks like she’s in her late twenties or early thirties. While never having tied the knot, she has been in two committed relationships in the past twelve years. The first long-term relationship was with George Augusto over an eight-year period from 2002 to 2010. The second is with the dapper Canadian Ryan Gosling, age 33, which started in 2011.

By all accounts, she’s very much in love with Gosling. In an interview on the Ellen DeGeneres show, she ridiculed the notion that she has ended her relationship with Gosling. They haven’t seen much of each other over the winter because he’s been in Iceland filming a new movie. Both she and Gosling starred in the crime drama “The Place Beyond the Pines”. The film was a modest success grossing $47 million on a budget of $15 million. The film was the first successful film she’s had since the 2007 film “Ghost Rider” where she starred opposite Nicholas Cage.

During her interview, she stated that her Valentine’s Day sans Gosling would be lonely. She said she would probably curl with some a deep dish pizza and watch a romantic film like “Notebook” and cry. Her remark drew laughs from the audience.
