I’m A Celebrity Inspires Inmates to Eat Cockroaches

Britain’s I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here reality show has been around for years. Recently, the television series inspired inmates at HMP Liverpool to take action. This particular prison has long been infested with cockroaches and other insects. Various investigations have made light of this problem time and time again. For now, inmates are taking matters into their own hands.

Inspired by I’m a Celebrity, many inmates have chosen to start eating the cockroaches. Nutrition in the prison is an issue, according to hundreds of inmates housed there. A small number of inmates started eating the cockroaches after watching the reality series. According to inmates, they can catch the bugs and boil them in water before adding extra ingredients. One inmate covers his cockroaches in chocolate according to reports.

In the end, eating insects isn’t necessarily the best diet plan. Inmates at HMP Liverpool are tackling the infestation problem on their own, though. I’m a Celebrity is a wildly popular series in the United Kingdom. Therefore, people shouldn’t be surprised that these inmates are emulating the actions taken on the show. Still, they should think twice before eating these disease-ridden bugs.
