Japanese Toilets’ Backdoor Attack

The bathroom. The place where you can privately relax and get your business done. Not so in Japan as toilets assault their visitors with premature sprays of water to their nether regions, closing the lid on them, and/or continuous flushes while in use. In the ever technologically advanced Japanese society, the Inax Satis company has invented a toilet that can be controlled by Bluetooth. It has one glitch: the My Satis app downloaded to an Android base phone to control the toilet controls ALL the toilets.

These blooper inducing moments happen because the toilets and the app all share the same pin code, “0000”. Attacks can be triggered at any time and by anyone with the technology to do so. So far, Inax Satis has not responded to correcting the security glitch, nor to why the need for these toilets exist in the first place. Until they do, it’s safe to assume toilets manufactured by them are fair game for any incidents to occur.

So be warned, if you’re using these toilets and suddenly hear laughter in the immediate area, be prepared and finish as quickly as possible. It would be a real pisser if this happened to you.
