Jason Mesnick regrets putting kid on tv show so young
When contestant Jason Mesnick appeared on the popular TV show about finding real romance, “The Bachelor”, he allowed his then 3-year old son Ty to be part of the show. Now Mesnick has admitted that he regrets exposing his son to the world on reality television and using him to make Mesnick seem more desirable to the women as a single dad.
In addition, Mesnick also regrets seeking publicity for the newborn he and Molly Malaney had in a cover story for People Magazine, acknowledging that allowing his kids to be public fodder was a huge mistake he now calls “stupid.”
But using his kids to advance his own fame and popularity isn’t the only thing that Mesnick regrets about his involvement with “The Bachelor.” He also seems ashamed now of how he dumped Melissa Rycroft, his original choice on the show, for runner up Molly Malaney with whom he went on to have daughter Riley. Mesnick admits he has serious doubts about being selected for “The Bachelor” show if he hadn’t dangled the fact that he was Ty’s doting dad.
He regrets having started a trend on the show where an increasing number of contestants bring their kids along to seem more likeable.
