Say it ain’t so! Jennifer Lawrence, age 23, has starred in smash hit movies such as the Hunger Games franchise, American Hustle, and the X-men. In addition, she has acted with distinction often winning critical acclaim for her acting performances. However, the fast pace of Hollywood life has the native of Louisville, Kentucky, yearning for the simple life once again. According to Hollywood mogul, Harvey Weinstein, the actress will be taking a break from acting for one year.
Apparently, her need to get some simple “do nothing” rest has been building up. She was in need of a vacation when she agreed to star in “American Hustle” which she did as a favor. Weinstein says that the actress is now tapped out and needs to rejuvenate. Lawrence did not make an appearance at England’s equivalent of the Oscars called the BAFTA Awards where she was nominated in the category of Best Supporting Actress for her role in “American Hustle”. Lawrence ended up winning the award.
She was recently interviewed outside the Golden Globe Awards where she spoke about what she does on her days off from work. She said that she needs at least four hours on the couch watching TV in order to feel relaxed. Given her top notch acting performances, she’s entitled to a long vacation.
According to MTV News, Lawrence isn’t taking a year off, after all. While appearing on the 2014 Oscars red carpet, she definitively stated that the rumors of her temporary retirement were just that.
“That’s just Harvey [Weinstein] being an idiot,” Lawrence said. “He’s not being an idiot, I don’t know. I would like to take a year off, that would be a dream.”
Lawrence is currently filming The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2.
