Jennifer Lopez Endures Firearms Possession Arrest and Acquittal

Jennifer Lopez will never fail to have plenty to write about in her memoirs. Back in the day when she was dating rapper Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs, she was arrested by the police and charged with possession of firearm weapons as well as stolen property.

Combs, who was also arrested, had been with Lopez at a New York Night Club where a shooting had just taken place during late December in 1999 and police stopped and searched their vehicle as they were leaving the scene of the incident.

Combs said in public statements that the gun found was not his and claimed that any and all charges brought by the police were completely false. Luckily for Lopez, the New York District Attorney’s office decided to drop any charges brought against her after they carefully evaluated the evidence they had in hand regarding the nightclub shooting in which three people were wounded.

Lopez has refused to comment publicly on the incident, but Combs spokesperson said that both his client and his girlfriend were merely victims of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, having hurried to get into a vehicle after the shooting, but being completely unaware there was a stolen gun in the Jeep.
