Jennifer Lopez Embroiled in Strange $10,000 Lawsuit

Rodrigo Ruiz is getting his 15 minutes of fame for being made a fool of in a mail hoax. He received what he thought were legitimate letters from Jennifer Lopez, the world famous singer, actress, model, and fashion designer. In the correspondence, she professed to have a carnal minded interest in him and asked for him to oblige her fixation on him with nude photographs of himself.

Caught up in what he thought was a budding love story, he mailed her the photographs. It is obvious, Mr. Ruiz was caught up in quite the fantasy. Jennifer Lopez was also alleged to have promised to listen to a CD of his music and subsequently hook him up with producers through her myriad of connections in the music business.

It turns out the photographs and CD were sent to a 53-year-old woman who purports to run a fan club for the singer. Now, Mr. Ruiz is now taking Jennifer Lopez for $10,000 in small claims court. Her spokesperson expects the lawsuit to be tossed out of court. As embarrassing as the incident has been for Mr. Ruiz, he has not established that Lopez had anything to do with the hoax.
