Acclaimed actor John Travolta turned 60 years old yesterday, February 18th. Over for years he has won the hearts of many with such films as Saturday Night Fever, Pulp Fiction, Get Shorty and Primary Colors. His long career began in 1976 when he starred along Sissy Spacek in the Stephen King thriller, Carrie. He has since then portrayed a myriad of characters and showcased his talents not only as an actor but as both a singer and dancer.

To mark this momentous occasion, Travolta fans hosted a special movie event in honor of their adored celeb. The Million Dollar Theater in Los Angeles California housed hundreds to celebrate his birthday by a screening of the 1978 classic Grease, yet another popular film highlighting Travolta’s ability to capture an audience. As a massive salut to John’s work, the enthusiasts engaged in a group sing-a-long to the movies viewing. Travolta was unable to attend the event but was touched by the effort. He told Britain’s BBC Radio 2, “I’m just touched by that. It’s going to be bittersweet that I can’t be there, but there’s also hundreds of people that want to do that-I thought that was really sweet.”
