Lance Bass Reveals He Feared for Life in Russia Back in 2002

Former NSync singer Lance Bass recently opened up about his three month training experience at Russia’s Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center. The homosexual male had not publicly come out about being gay, but grew increasingly fearful for his life. He said that the more he got to know the average Russian, the more he learned of their deep seated hatred of homosexuals.

His anxiety grew into a sort of paranoia where he thought Russians would conclude he was gay and kill him during the night. It wasn’t easy being among a people that was so openly homophobic. Often times he had to endure their steady stream of gay jokes. Part of his training as an astronaut required a physical. During the colonoscopy, he said the procedure was done in a physically intrusive manner that he found very painful. In fact, it brought him to tears because his anal canal was so tight.

He then realized the men around him were laughing. His inquiry into what was prompting the humor was answered by the translator revealing that they were relieved he wasn’t gay. No one with a tight anal canal could possibly be gay was their line of thinking.
