LeSean McCoy Quiets Redskins Fan

Published

 on

Perhaps he was making a statement of protest against the Washington Redskins refusal to change their team’s nickname or perhaps like a giant charging bull in Mexico he detests red waving flags, but more than likely LeSean McCoy just wanted to shut up a cheering fan of the team that he was about to face in that afternoon’s NFC Eastern Division match up. No matter the reason, the 5th year running back of the Philadelphia Eagles further endeared himself to his home town Philadelphia fans on Sunday when Fox Sports television cameras captured him snatching away a Washington Redskins flag from a cheering fan before crumpling it up and tossing it to the turf.

This hatred of the opponent more than likely has been something that McCoy has carried around with himself for longer than just his time as an Eagle. The 25 year old All Pro halfback was born and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and played his college ball at the University of Pennsylvania.

After McCoy’s impromteau game of Capture the flag his team went on to defeat the Redskins by the score of 24-16. The game meant a little more this time around as the victory put the Eagles in possession of first place in the NFC East, one game ahead of the Dallas Cowboys who had the week off.
