man crashes into gas station, steals banana and leaves

The Citgo Gas Station in Newington, Connecticut, was the victim of the most bizarre crime reported since 2014 was ushered in. An unidentified African-American male crashed his Ford station wagon several times into the station’s glass door in order to break it and gain entry into the convenience store portion of the station. According to police who reviewed security video of the event, which happened in the middle of the night, the driver of the vehicle exited his car, stole a banana from one of the store shelves and proceeded to eat it. He than calmly returned to his SVU and drove away.

What made this crime even more unusual was the fact that the driver didn’t wear a mask in order to conceal his identity and didn’t steal anything other than one banana. Police say that they are asking for the public’s help in locating the intruder, who was dressed in dark colored pants and jacket and wearing a brown baseball cap. Although the vehicle had a Connecticut license plate, police have not revealed whether or not the numbers were readable. The video showed that the man’s station wagon sustained damage to the rear bumper and tail light on the driver’s side.
