Man Dies at Pearson: Was Trapped Under Snow Plow

A man died Friday evening near Pearson Airport in a Toronto parking lot after being pinned under a snow removal truck. The man, who is believed to be in his early 20s, was unresponsive and had no vital signs when paramedics reached him Friday evening.

Emergency services were called to Viscount Road, which is close to Highway 40. The paramedics pronounced the unidentified man dead around 8pm after efforts were made to extract him from underneath the snow removal vehicle. Peel regional police Const. Thomas Ruttan informed news reporters that the details pertaining to what actually happened Friday night that caused the man to lose his life was still unclear.

Const. Ruttan stated, “What may have taken place at this point is under investigation. The Ministry of Labour was called in and they will be doing an investigation along with us. At this point, it doesn’t appear there’s going to be any criminality to what has taken place.”

It is unclear as of yet if the man that was found in the parking lot underneath the snow removal vehicle was part of the snow removal crew. The investigation is ongoing, and the ruling on the death is still pending investigation.
