Man Proposes to Girlfriend While Being Arrested

Every man tries their hardest to make their proposals as memorable and romantic as possible, and one man in Oklahoma has certainly managed the former. Mr. Justin Harrel was spotted in a park by a police officer who realized that the man had several warrants still on him.

Of course, the officer walked over to arrest Harrel, but the man resisted arrest – telling the officer to just give him five minutes. Nevertheless, the officer took him into custody, and it was only then that he revealed the reason he needed that five minutes. When the officer had approached Harrel, he was in the process of proposing to his girlfriend.

From there, the officer facilitated as a go-between for the handcuffed man to propose to his girlfriend. After Harrel asked the question (and his girlfriend said yes), the police officer removed the ring from the man’s coat pocket and gave it to the woman. As a bonus engagement present, Mr. Harrel was not charged with resisting an officer.

To be sure, this might not be a story to tell the kids when they ask about where Dad popped the question, but it’ll nonetheless remain a memorable start to marriage.
