Cat Burglar: Man steals $200,000 To Feed 121 Cats

Man steals to feed 121 cats
A Japanese man has been arrested for a year long burglary spree in which he stole hundreds of thousands of dollars to feed his 112 cats.
Mamoru Demizu, 48, stole in order to keep his cats living in the style to which they were accustomed. These were no purina eating felines, they enjoyed meals of the finest fish and meat…all subsidized by the man’s nighttime burglary activities in and around Izumi city, Japan.
This man’s dedication to his animal friends far outweighs normal animal owners and has surely earned him a spot in the cat lover hall of fame.
The food bills for his feline friends reached up to 26,000 yen per day which is roughly 250 US dollars.
Demizu was caught in the act and has admitted to at least 32 burglaries over the course of a year. While this cat burglar may have been able to avoid the law for a full year they eventually caught up with him.
He now faces fines and jailtime as well as a mandatory mental health evaluation. According to police the man has an inordinate fascination with cats and this is most likely the cause of his antisocial behavior.
