McDonald’s Employee Celebrates 25 Years On the Job at Age 100

Needham, Massachusetts – The year was 1989 and President George H. W. Bush was early into his presidency when Morris Miller entered a McDonald’s looking for employment. This past weekend, he celebrated a double milestone: he reached the 25 year mark working for the fast food giant and turned 100. It’s an event most people never live to see.

Miller said that he simply did whatever he was asked to do. It is a simple work ethic rule that has served him well over the years. However, as he became older, Mr. Miller’s employer found better ways to make use of his talents than working behind the counters. Nowadays, the senior citizen arrives at the store to eat a free breakfast and hob knob with the customers. It is something he’s quite good at which Tim McCoy, the store owner, says has led to repeat customers.

In fact, the store ran a special the weekend of his birthday allowing customers join in on the happy occasion by purchasing either of a Quarter Pounder, Big Mac, or medium-sized iced coffee for 100 cents. Mr. Miller now works 3 days a week and vows to stay on the clock as long as he is able to move.
