Boston Marathon Bombers’ Mother Now Added to Terror Watch List

American Government officials have confirmed that the CIA added Mrs. Zubeidat Tsarnaeva, mother of the Boston Marathon Bombing suspects, to the terror watch list back in 2011 after Russian authorities expressed concerns over her two son’s possible terror links.

Specifically, the database in question is the Terrorist Identities Datamart Environment (TIDE) and as ignominious as that name appears, appearing in the database does not automatically result in extra security screenings, travel restrictions, or even surveillance. Really?

Thursday night, 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was transported from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he had been recovering, to the Federal Medical Center Devens which provides care to prison inmates. His new treatment facility is 40 miles outside of Boston. He was transported by US Marshalls.

Both mother and sons are ethnic Chechens who fled the fighting in Soviet Chechnya ten years ago. However, it is believed that the US wars in Afghanistan and Iraq motivated Tsarnaeva’s two sons to engage in terrorism.

The two are now charged with building homemade weapons of mass destruction in the form of pressure cookers filled with shrapnel. The bombs have thus far resulted in the deaths of three persons and wounded 260 others. Many of the victims have been permanently maimed as a result.
