Motley Crue Disbanding After Final Tour Dates
Veteran members of the popular Motley Crue rock group aren’t kidding that their next tour will be their last one. The four members of the band, including Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars and Vince Neil, each officially signed a “cessation of touring agreement” at a ceremony in Hollywood recently, meaning that they plan on breaking up permanently after fulfilling their final tour obligations. Motley Crue was introduced to the public in 1981 and enjoyed sales of over 80 million albums. But each of the band members wanted to see a peaceful conclusion to their long-running musical collaboration and feels the time is right to go their separate ways.
Tommy Lee commented that they feel their job is complete and they wanted to avoid doing lesser festival venues that only feature half of the Crue. But none of the group’s original members feels that the break-up of the group signals the end of their individual musical careers. Ranging in age from 51 to 62, Motley Crue members expressed the firm belief that plenty of projects offering excitement and financial rewards lay ahead of them. They kick off “The Final Tour” this summer in Michigan and will perform through 2015.
