‘Nose Job’ Killer Lian Enqing Sentenced To death

Lian Enqing sentenced to death
Hangzhou, China – The criminal court in this city of 6.4 million people in North Eastern China has found Lian Enqing sentenced to death for the killing of one doctor and wounding two others at a local hospital in the Zhejiang Province. The knife wielding attack took place on October 25, 2013.
There was an extenuating circumstance in that Enqing suffers from a diagnosed mental illness. He had been receiving treatment at the Shanghai Mental Health Center where he was formally diagnosed as having a persistent delusional disorder. The key word is persistent. However, the court concluded that despite his persistent delusional disorder he was mentally fit when he flew into a knife wielding rage and attacked three people killing one. It isn’t clear to what extent his mental illness was fully explained either. According to reports, it was his sister Lian Qiao who brought up the issue of his ongoing treatment which had ended less than fortnight before he carried out the attacks. There is no word if a mental health professional testified on his behalf.
As it stands, 33-year-old Enqing will now be denied his life for the murder of his physician. Enqing was said to be deeply dissatisfied with the nasal surgery he had received.
