Obama Catches Fainting Woman During Speech (PHOTO0
On Monday, President Barack Obama experienced something he never anticipated during a speech: a woman behind him nearly fainted as he spoke at the Rose Garden. President Obama was forced to step in to steady her, before she fell to the ground.
Karmel Allison, who is currently pregnant, appeared to grow weary and light headed during the president’s speech. Allison, who had been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of nine, was caught and steadied by the president until it was clear that she was able to stand under her own power.
The president’s speech was discussing plans to fix the problems people have experienced trying to sign up on the new health care website since it’s debut on October 1st.
Allison was at the speech to discuss how she found a new coverage plan under the new controversial “Obamacare” health care law. She was there to tell others that her experience with her new plan was equal, but cheaper, to her previous plan.
Allison thanked the president after the event was over and appeared to have recovered completely. She tweeted about the event, stating “I’m ok world- just got a little lightheaded. Thanks @BarackObama for catching me!”
