The Presidential state car is the official state car used by the President of the United States. A variety of vehicles have both officially and unofficially been acknowledged as the presidential vehicle. Since the late 1930s, the U.S. government has specially commissioned vehicles for presidential use, often specifying advanced communications equipment, special convenience features, armor plating, and defense countermeasures. American cars are traditionally chosen for the role. The most recent vehicle to be customized as the presidential car is a Chevrolet Kodiak-based, Cadillac-badged limousine often referred to as Cadillac One and occasionally as Limo One (a reference to the U.S. presidential aircraft, Air Force One) or as The Beast.

Wrong Fuel Causes Obama Limo To Be Towed

The armored Cadillac limousine that was flown to Israel this week in order to transport President Obama around during his tour wound up having to be towed.

According to Israeli’s Channel 2, the cause of the breakdown was simple human error rather than any subversive plot, as the car was mistakenly filled up with diesel fuel rather than the gasoline it needed to operate smoothly.

“The Americans filled it up with diesel, rather than [gasoline],” the channe quoted a source, which recently scored an interview with Obama, reported – in case there was any doubt that the host government wasn’t to blame

The limo, nicknamed “The Beast”, had to be replaced with another back-up vehicle which was also flown from the U.S. to Obama’s location oversees.

Although the Secret Service acknowledged that the custom made “Beast” was out of commission, they would not acknowledge that filling its tank with the wrong type of fuel was the reason behind the breakdown.

“Secret Service will acknowledge that a vehicle broke down. That’s why we bring extra vehicles, mechanics etc.,” agency spokesman Brian Leary told the Post.

The vehicle is specially designed for the ultimate in security protection, featuring very thick doors and a bullet-proof armor plating. The last time the car encountered a problem was in fall of 2011 in Ireland.
