Olivia Culpo Faces Jail Time Over Photo Shoot
2012’s Miss Universe may be soon wearing an orange prison jumpsuit instead of her usual evening gown and swimwear. Olivia Culpo is in hot water for her participation in a photo shoot and took place at the Taj Mahal. The Archeological Survey of India was planning to file a complaint against the beauty queen after she modeled some footwear at the Diana Seat just in front of the world famous structure. The ASI claims that the photo shoot was disrespectful and insulting and in violation of the Heritage Act. The Indian law bans any type of commercial activity for profit on the grounds of the Taj Mahal.
Olivia Culpo and others involved with the photo shoot are facing serious charges which could result in a huge fine and significant jail time if they are convicted. Miss Universe is claiming that she was simply following orders and stated that she had expressed concern with the photo shoot and had thought the set up to be inappropriate before relenting and participating.
Culpo was participating in the photo shoot while representing the Miss Universe organization. The group later released an apology and said that they were influenced by the sponsor. Culpo was in India to promote her platform for AIDS awareness.
