One-handed Basketball superstar Zach Hodskins commits to Florida
Zach Hodskins has gained a lot of attention lately in the sports world because of his determination to overcome adversity. The Georgia high school basketball star not only dominates the court, but he does so with only one arm.
This past Saturday he committed to playing for Florida as a preferred walk-on. Zach said, “It’s always been my dream growing up. I never expected it to be like this, but the hard work has paid off. I’m ecstatic I’m going to be a Florida Gator.”

He originally hails from Lexington, Kentucky. He stands at six feet and four inches and weighs in at 200 pounds. A birth defect caused him to be born without the lower half of his left arm. Despite his handicap he has performed strongly on the AAU circuit.
Before settling on Florida with Billy Donovan he was also in contact with John Calipari at Kentucky. He decided that Florida would be a better fit. He is going to be treated like all of the other players and if he works hard he has been told that he will earn time on the court. His story has been proving to be an inspiration to everyone from Beyonce to JJ Reddick.
