Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr Separate
After being married for three years, celebrity couple Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have decided to call it quits. The couple has announced their decision to separate, with a formal divorce likely to take place in the coming months.
The news is a surprise to most who have followed the two celebrities, given the seeming strength of their relationship. Not only have the two seemed closer than ever, but they also have a child together. Orlando and Miranda have been married for three years, and have been in a relationship for the past six years.
The two released a joint statement through their representatives, which highlighted their decision to go their separate ways. Despite the separation, the statement mentions that they are still friends, and they have plenty of love and respect for each other. It is good to hear that their split is amicable, given the fact that they will have to juggle custody of their two year old son.
The couple were last seen together at the beginning of this month, while their final public appearance together was at the opening night of Bloom’s Broadway production of Romeo And Juliet on September 19.
“When I saw Orlando on Broadway in Romeo and Juliet, I was blown away,” Kerr said to People Magazine “For someone to be able to learn all that and hold the energy to do it every day, six days a week – I have so much respect for him. We don’t run lines though. We keep that very separate. That would be like me asking him to teach me how to catwalk.”
Distance is likely to have played a part in their split, with Orlando completing various filming duties, and Miranda continuing her role with Victoria’s Secret. Orlando is famous for his various movie roles, which include playing Legolas in “Lord of the Rings”, and Will Turner in “Pirates of the Caribbean”. Kerr is famous for being a Victoria’s Secret Angel, a role she has held since 2007.
