Paulina Gretzky’s steamy self-shot photos—with the help of Instagram and Twitter—have landed her on the December 2013 issue of the popular men’s magazine Maxim.
Previously known only as the daughter of the hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, Paulina’s photos attained her a sort of celebrity status of her own after going viral on social media sites and internet forums.
The provocative photos did have a negative impact on her relationship with her father.
In 2011, Wayne convinced Paulina to temporarily stop posting the racy photos via Twitter after they made headlines. The 24 year old beauty obviously convinced him that she is old enough to make her own decisions at some point.

The fact that simply posting pictures on social media websites landed her on the cover of a nationally-acclaimed magazine just goes to show how those type of internet sites are changing the world.
Although the photo shoot isn’t nearly as steamy as Paulina’s Instagram account, it’s cool to see that Dustin Johnson’s fiancé is finally getting ahead on her modeling career.
And as for that criticism about her revealing photos, Gretzky isn’t fazed. She tells the magazine:
“Some people gave me such a hard time for posting all these swimsuit pics on Twitter. I’m sorry, I’m not posting pictures when I’m reading a book. I feel like social media is supposed to be for fun, to share what you’re doing when you’re enjoying life.”
