Pillsbury Recalls: General Mills Recalls Cinnamon Rolls Over Plastic Fragments
People will now have more than their waistlines to watch out for when eating Pillsbury Cinnamon rolls. The popular maker of dough-based products what pop out of the roll ready to bake has issued a recall on their brand of “Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls with Icing”. Pillsbury claims plastic pieces possibly made it into the dough.
Specifically, those eight count single rolls of the Cinnamon buns with “best if used by” dates of October 30 & 31, 2013 are recalled. Also, double packs of the same rolls with “best if used by” dates of October 18, 26, and 31 of this year were recalled.
Pillsbury is owned by General Mills Inc. and stated that part of the assembly line for the cinnamon rolls broke and fragments of plastic may have made it in the dough.
The product is Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls with Icing with a “better by date” of 30OCT2013 and 31OCT2013 as well as Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls with Icing 2-pack with a “better by date” of 18OCT2013, 26OCT2013 and 31OCT2013. Consumers are asked to contact General Mills for a replacement. Consumers with questions may contact General Mills toll-free at 1-800-775-4777.
According to the press release, the products were only available in the United States.
The Pillsbury Company was originally established in 1872 by founders John S. Pillsbury and his nephew Charles Alfred Pillsbury. The company’s products remain popular with American consumers despite fierce competition which has seen the collapse of other venerable confection companies such as Hostess Inc.
