Pink Named Woman of the Year According to Billboard

Long time fans and followers of Billboard’s annual Woman Of The Year award have another legendary celebrity to add to the illustrious roll of female celebrities: Alecia Moore, aka Pink.

The veteran, Grammy winning, songwriter, performer, and pop music superstar took home the award after scoring her fourth Number One single on the Billboard charts, “Just Give Me A Reason”. This chart topping block buster was recorded in collaboration with Nate Preuss. Its parent album, optimistically titled “The Truth About Love”, has sold over a million copies and earned a Grammy nomination earlier in the year.

In an accompanying interview with the long running magazine, Pink was quoted with the following reaction: “I was absolutely shocked and surprised to hear that Billboard named me Woman of the Year.”

She then went on to add that, “It’s been an incredible year and I feel so grateful to radio for sticking by me, and to the fans and friends and all of the incredible talent that I was fortunate enough to work with for this album.”

Long time followers of Billboard magazine will undoubtedly welcome Ms. Moore to the ranks of immortal female performers and past recipients of this highly coveted honor.
