Portland Family Terrorized by Hostile Cat

Portland, Oregon – Lee Palmer might have had a bad day at the office and decided to go home and kick the cat, but that proved to be a big mistake. The 22 pound Himalayan cat wasn’t about to be pushed around by anyone. In response to being mistreated, the cat attacked their 7-month-old baby and drove the whole family into the bathroom. Every time they attempted to come out, it would go mental on them.

Apparently, Mr. Palmer didn’t realize the merits of what a wrapped-up towel could do on a recalcitrant cat. Instead, he opted to phone 911 with a sheepish but nonetheless serious distress call. He claimed a very hostile pet cat had trapped them in their bathroom. When asked if the child was okay following the attack, he said the baby was fine except for the puncture wounds from where the cat dug its claws into the baby’s head. The 911 operator assisting Mr. Palmer was professional as heard on the recording and never condescended his concerns.

The 911 operator then conferred with a supervisor to get approval to dispatch police to deal with the animal. Finally, police were sent to their home and used a dog net to extricate the cat from their home. Police say the cat gave up without a struggle. When asked by the media what he would do with the cat, Mr. Palmer said he was still mulling over his options. If he decided to keep the cat, he said he’d keep it away from his son.
