Rocker Rick Springfield arrested for missing court date

When 63 year old rocker, Rick Springfield failed to appear in court last Wednesday on for a for a DUI charge he got in May 2011. An arrest warrant was issued on Friday and he was taken into custody at his home in Los Angeles.

In May 2011, Springfield was speeding down the pacific coast highway, when police pulled him over. Last August he had pleaded no contest to a reckless driving charge and the court ordered him to attend an alcohol education class for three months.

Springfield was released after his wife brought down some paper work to the police station, and he was not booked on any charges. However, this was not Springfield’s first arrest. In 2000, he was arrested for spousal abuse, when he was married to Barbara Springthorpe. Police were called to their Malibu home where they found his wife with minor injuries to her face and arms.

On Friday, Springfield went on his face book page to explain what happened. He stated that he was arrested on a bench warrant, and that he didn’t know he was supposed to appear in court a few weeks ago. He stated that it was due to an old DUI charge that had been dismissed. The singer said that he would appear at his gig that night and that his life was not boring. Springfield has a great sense of humor.
