Burglar Found Asleep on Victim’s Couch

Lady Lake, FL – 21-year-old Domonique Pinkard will have a lot more time to sleep following his arrest for burglary Sunday morning.

The man robbed the home of a woman by kicking in the back door and helping himself to electronics and jewelry with the aid of his accomplice 20-year-old Julian Evangelist. Both men are from Lady Lake.

Apparently, the heist went well and the two were about to part ways with their ill-gotten gains. It was at that moment when Pinkard decided he needed to rest up a bit before heading off

Pinkard promptly fell asleep on the sofa and his accomplice thought it best to let him rest a bit and left the home.

The next thing Pinkard recalled was police officers nudging him awake so that he could be arrested for burglary. Pinkard had the woman’s jewelry in his possession at the time of arrest. Police say they received a phone call at 7:30AM by the mistress of the house when she noticed the back door had been forcibly opened.

Shortly after Pinkard’s arrest, his cohort was taken into custody for his part in the crime.

“I’ve never broken into a home… But I don’t think I would be able to fall asleep,” police Chief Chris McKinstry said. “He [Pinkard] feels pretty comfortable in others’ surroundings.”

Now, the two will have a lot to talk about in the general population of the county jail where they will most likely bear a nickname comprised of a compound word starting with dumb and ending with something that rhymes with grass.
