Sarah Michelle Gellar’s First Selfie

Sarah Michelle Gellar and her husband Freddie Prinze, Jr are seldom photographed together compared to many other celebrity couples. She recently tweeted her first selfie, however, and it’s a shot of the pair smiling happily together. They haven’t been photographed in each other’s company on the red carpet since 2007, though some pictures of them together have surfaced since then. One notable example is the picture of the couple with their daughter and Rapunzel at Disneyland. It’s more common to see pictures of Gellar out alone with the kids.

Gellar has been hard at work on the CBS sitcom “The Crazy Ones,” in which she appears with Robin Williams. The show was not picked up for another season, but it’s likely that Gellar will work be back in the public eye again soon, perhaps with more voice acting. Prinze, meanwhile, reprises his guest role on the Fox crime comedy-drama Bones. He has no plans to become a permanent fixture on the show, however, since he considers himself a full time dad and a part time actor.

The pair, married since 2002 and the parents of two children, posed for the photo as a treat for Gellar’s fans when she reached 200,000 followers on Twitter. The selfie has been retweeted over 1,000 times already. Perhaps fans will get to see more Gellar selfies–she’s already tweeted this one, a twitpic of her with “Crazy Ones” costar James Wolk, as well as pictures with actress/TV personality Queen Latifah and basketball great Kareem Abdul Jabbar.
