Scare for Simon Cowell in Knife Throwing Stunt

Former American Idol judge Simon Cowell quickly retired as the assistant to a young knife thrower after an incorrectly thrown knife came a little too close for comfort for the Britain’s Got Talent Judge. 54 year old Cowell, the head judge on the British version of the talent show lasted just two knives as assistant to 11 year old Edward before making his excuses and leaving.

The first time father to be originally volunteered as assistant when the young performer impressed the judges with a series of knife throwing tricks before asking for a live volunteer. As the crowd called for Cowell to take part the judge eventually agreed and happily stood against a wooden board as the first blade hits its target to one side of his body.

Unfortunately, Edward’s second throw lacked the aim of his first and bounced off the board close to the shoulder of Simon Cowell and fell to the floor of the stage. Cowell quickly left the stage as fellow judge, former Little Britain star David Walliams asked how much it would cost for Edward to throw the next knife a little closer to Cowell. Many critics questioned why Cowell would place himself in such danger when a private jet is on 24 hour standby to take the reality TV star to New York as soon as pregnant girlfriend Lauren Silverman enters labor.
