Shoppers across the U.S. were put on edge this week due to a random act of violence that occurred at a Target store in Pittsburgh.

On a seemingly normal Monday evening, a disgruntled and presumably mentally unstable man wielding a knife from his kitchen pursued innocent shoppers and managed to wound three unfortunate victims, according to reports.

Among these was a teenage girl, assaulted near the checkout lane where she stood with her family. Her injury was the most severe, resulting in immediate hospitalization. The girl’s screams brought vigilante justice to the scene as several other shoppers tackled the criminal.

According to the Post Gazette, police made an arrest soon after, and emergency medical services scrambled to stabilize those hurt during the event.

Those affected, including the young female, are expected to make it. Obviously, the accused will undeniably be tried to the fullest extent of the law and sent away to the appropriate correctional institution.

As the surreal happenings are just starting to be analyzed by on-scene officers and video evidence, the executives of Target chains are struggling to quell the growing concerns of shoppers. Pennsylvanian residents are especially shaken up, as there was absolutely no warning sign that could have protected the unsuspecting child or two other customers.
