Tata Motors Executive Dies from Hotel Room Fall

Bangkok, Thailand – In a news item that eerily mirrors lyrics from the 1984 hit song “One Night in Bangkok” with the words “One night in Bangkok and the tough guys tumble – Can’t be too careful with your company”, the managing director of India’s largest automotive maker Tata Motors fell off the balcony of the hotel he was staying at plunging to his death.

British born Karl Slym was brought in to salvage sales for the struggling auto maker back in 2012. The company has not regained their growth track yet, but a spokesman said the company is close to turning the corner. Tata Motors has new automobile designs and an improved motor they hope will bring in new customers. Slym brought with him experience and leadership which the company was relying heavily upon during to reverse a downward spiral in sales.

It isn’t known yet what caused the fall or whether there was any substance such as alcohol that may have contributed to his death. The autopsy is being conducted. However, police suspect that his death may be the result of a suicide. It should be noted that this is based on a preliminary investigation that did not find any sign that Slym had fought off any assailants or tried to rescue himself.
