Months of rumor and speculation were brought to an end yesterday when two of the world’s most successful sports stars confirmed they have been dating for some time.
Golfer Tiger Woods and downhill skier Lindsey Vonn confirmed their relationship witha series of postings and uploaded pictures to social media sites Twitter and Facebook. Vonn and Woods posted statements about their relationship at the same time yesterday to confirm months of media speculation about the pair’s relationship.
Our relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over these past few months and it has made me very happy. I don’t plan on addressing this further as I would like to keep that part of my life between us, my family and close friends. Thank you for understanding and your continued support! xo LV
Despite the “official” relationship, Vonn still felt it was best to wait in the car while Woods and Nordegren watched their 5-year-old daughter play baseball.

Woods and Nordegren hit up their 5-year-old daughter, Samantha’s baseball game on Monday, and although the Olympic skier rode with Tiger to the game, she decided to wait in his Mercedes until Sam’s sporting event was over.
Both 37 year old Woods and Vonn, 28 have divorced their former partners in recent years and have faced speculation about their relationship since late 2012; in December Vonn went so far as to deny the pair were anything more than friends.
Both athletes have enjoyed recent success in their respective careers with Woods returning to his earlier form to claim wins on the PGA tour; Vonn injured her knee and was forced to miss the end of the 2012 downhill World Cup, but was still crowned the winner of a sixth straight World Cup title.
Vonn was participating in Austria’s Alpine Ski World Championships when she wiped out on the Super-G course.
The injury tore both the right knee’s ACL and MCL ligaments, in addition to a fractured bone.
Vonn posted the following comment on Facebook: “My knee looks…um…not very good….”. She also twittered the following remark regarding her leg: “#longskirtsthissummer”.
The 28 year old skier revealed a badly swollen leg that sports what are no doubt some deep and sensitive bruises. Her sponsor Red Bull is using the occasion for a new round of advertisements featuring an injured Vonn in physical rehabilitation under with the caption: “‘Not letting obstacles stand in your way”.
Dr. Bill Sterett, the physician for the U.S. Ski Team that performed Vonn’s surgery, also confirmed that it was a success and said that it is currently too early to issue a specific prognosis.
“The overall success rate for ACL/MCL surgery is very good. Modern surgical techniques combined with aggressive rehabilitation will help Lindsey make a full recovery,” Sterett said in a statement. “She will do everything in her power to return as quickly as possible to competitive skiing.”
