Teen Shoplifters Found with Dead Baby Fetus

Manhattan, New York City – two teenage girls have been charged with petit larceny and possession of purloined goods following a search by mall security for shoplifting. However, it may be that more egregious charges get filed omce the results of the autopsy are completed. It turns out that when the mall cop was examining the girls’ shopping bags, he detected a putrid odor and found the source of the smell to be a baby fetus.

Upon making the grisley discovery, police were called. The teen girl claiming to be the mother was hospitalized az a precaution and her friend was taken in for questioning.

17-year-old Tiona Rodriguez, who delivered the child claims it arrived a day ahead of schedule and she was simply unsure of how to dispose of the body.

Police believe she delivered at the other girl’s house.

The girl found with the fetus hasn’t been charged in its discovery, and her lawyer said Saturday it was up to the district attorney to bring more serious charges.

“Right now, there’s no proof that she facilitated the death of the baby,” said attorney Genay Ann Leitman. “She’s a 17-year-old who just had a child die. It’s pretty traumatic for anybody, kid or adult.”

On Wednesday night, Rodriguez posted on her Facebook page, complaining: “These Cramps, SON.” She also noted that she was excited about a job interview she had Wednesday at Chipotle.

The autopsy should reveal the cause of and whether any negligence on the part of the mother contributed to the death. It should be noted that in all fairness it isn’t known if the child was even born alive. Neither has it been determined hoe far along the 17-year-old was in the pregnancy.

The teen mom and her friend had been shopping at Victoria’s Secret when they were stopped by mall security.
