Benedict Cumberpatch Photobombs U2 at the Oscars

British actor Benjamin Cumberpatch, widely known for his portrayal of a modern day Sherlock Holmes in the BBC series “Sherlock”, made it clear that it’s not only girls that go crazy for a sharp dressed man. The veteran garage rock band U2 was on hand for the 86th Annual Oscars and while they took the red carpet for the photo opportunity, Cumberpatch couldn’t help himself and began photobombing the group. Cumberpatch was seen standing atop something which gave him enough height to tower over the group as he sported exaggerated child-like “me too” poses with arms and hands outstretched. By the time the award ceremony was well underway, Cumberpatch had returned to the more stoic demeanor of a proper Englishman.

As for U2, they were all well-dressed and in attendance with their loved ones. Front man Bono was in the middle along with his wife Ali Hewson. They have been married for 31 years. U2 was at the event to perform their song “Ordinary Love” in tribute to the late Nelson Mandela who passed away in December. It was the first time the group performed the song before a live audience. It was featured in the film “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom”.
