Walking Dead fans mourn death of character
Many fans of AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ are in mourning this week since Sunday’s bloody mid-season finale.
One of the most keenly felt losses was Hershel Greene. After three seasons, the wise veterinarian died while a hostage of the Governor. When Rick refused to leave the prison and tried to convince both groups to live together, the Governor killed Hershel with Michonne’s sword by brutally decapitating him.
The Governor was another fan-favorite loss. As he tried to kill Rick, Michonne stuck her blade through his chest and then Lily, who watched earlier in horror as Philip/Brian put a bullet in Megan’s head after she was bitten, finished him off with a bullet to his own.

The fates of many characters are now unknown.
Lily’s sister Tara was last seen stumbling from the fighting as Sasha, Bob and Maggie fled and the bus drove off with Glenn and most of the former Woodbury plague survivors. Daryl and Beth fled together while Tyreese was saved by the children who ran back into the prison. Although Rick and Carl survived, they discovered Judith’s baby carrier soaked with blood.
