Wasp vs bee fight To The Death
A 27-second video recently posted on YouTube is giving spectators a close-up look at how two members of the insect kingdom battle for superiority.
The short video, taken by an amateur cameraman, shows a wasp and a bee struggling on a concrete sidewalk. As the two insects, both known for being able to deliver stings to human beings that in some instances can prove fatal, roll around on the rough concrete surface, the wasp eventually gains dominance over his opponent and manages to bite into the weaker bee’s body.
The wasp emerges the victor in this battle to the death, managing to tear the bee’s body in half before flying away with a piece of his prey in his jaws. The online video capturing the wasp and bee battle to the death is a reminder that although the natural world is full of beauty and wonder, it can also prove to be very cruel and unforgiving. Wasps and bees are known to be natural enemies, with wasps often laying in wait outside a beehive and attacking bees and then consuming them. Nature photographers have often captured groups of honeybees as well ganging up on a lone wasp and killing it.
