Woman accused of Craigslist killing claims she’s killed dozens as part of a satanic cult

Miranda Barbour from Pennsylvania is in jail facing the death penalty for killing a man she met on Craigslist; in a recent interview, Miranda claimed that she has killed more than 22 people while participating in a satanic cult.

In the interview, she claims to have stopped counting her victims after her 22nd kill, but she claims to be able to pinpoint map positions where authorities can find their bodies. Miranda’s claims came from a jailhouse interview where she and her husband Elytte Barbour are awaiting trial. Authorities are calling the killing of 42-year-old Troy LaFerrara a “thrill kill” that the couple participated in to mark their three-week wedding anniversary.

“When I hit 22, I stopped counting,” 19-year-old Miranda Barbour told the Sunbury, Pa., Daily Item newspaper in a chilling jailhouse interview Friday.
“I can pinpoint on a map where you can find them,” she boasted. “I remember everything. It is like watching a movie.”

Miranda lured LaFerrara to a parking lot after placing an ad on Craigslist offering female companionship; the two met in a parking lot before driving to the spot where the murder took place. During the encounter, Elytte hid beneath a blanket waiting to pounce; once his wife gave him a signal, he quickly jumped up and wrapped a cord around LaFerrara’s neck. Miranda then stabbed LaFerrara 20 times.

On Friday, Miranda admitted to the killing. She told reporters that LaFerrara is just one victim in a killing spree that has spanned multiple states; the spree supposedly began when she joined a satanic cult in Alaska at the age of 13. Miranda stated that the cult’s leader let her come along on a hit; the leader handed her a gun and let her finish the man off. After that, Miranda says that she never stopped killing.

So far, there has been no evidence linking Miranda or her husband to any other killings.
