12 year old abduction assaulted Claims Recanted

According to media reports Thrusday, a 12-year-old girl who had reported she was abducted then sexually assaulted in Waldorf, Md has recanted her story.

According to Charles County Sheriff’s Office, the girl said a black man in a black van took her from outside a home on Hope Circle around 4 p.m. She said he then drove her to the area of Pierce Road, where she says she was sexually assaulted, reports NBC News Washington.

The girl recanted her story later that evening, deputies said.

On Thursday, December 12, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office released the following Statement:

The Charles County Sheriffs Office is investigating a report of a 12-year old girl who reported she was abducted outside of an address on Hope Circle at about 4 pm by a black male in a black van.

She reported he drove her to the area of Pierce Road, where he sexually assaulted her.

She reported that she escaped and called 911.
