Donkeys in Hungary Maul Elderly Man to Death

Donkeys are not the world’s most docile creatures, best known for their stubborn nature. Unfortunately, two donkeys in a Hungarian village near Budapest are suspected of taking out their foul mood on a 65-year old man by mauling him to death.

The victim was identified as a retired firefighter named Sandor Horvath. Horvath had been riding through the area on his motorcycle when he encountered the 2 donkeys kept on one of the local farms. They allegedly dragged him from the bike, all the while biting and trampling him to death.

Horvath’s body was taken to the local medical examiner’s office in order for an autopsy to be performed to discover the exact cause of death. There has been no official word of how Horvath died. Until the cause of death can be linked to the actions of the two animals, the donkeys are being held under observation.

There has been no information released on whether or not the animals may have been provoked by Horvath prior to their attacking him or if they may be suffering from some type of medical condition or disease which made them more aggressive than usual. There has also been no comment regarding the tragedy from the donkeys’ owner or Horvath’s relatives.

According to ABC News, the donkeys are being kept under observation for another week before their fate is decided.
