Thieves Steal Marilyn Monroe Photo’s

A Marilyn Monroe exhibition has been left in doubt in the Czech capital of Prague after thieves stole a selection of photographs and display items from the exhibition; the items were to be displayed to the public in an exhibition due to open at Prague Castle on May 30th. Alice Titzova, an exhibition publicist from the PR agency 2media explained the items from the Monroe exhibition were stolen at some point late on Monday evening as the exhibition was being prepared for opening to the public.

Along with the photographs from the exhibition other items were also stolen, including display cases and mannequins; a decision has yet to be taken over the future of the exhibition following the theft.

The Marilyn Monroe exhibition was created by the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum in Florence, Italy to mark the 50th anniversary of the death of the Hollywood movie legend.

Curators from the museum had assembled an impressive group of Monroe’s personal belongings, including her dresses, shoes and photographs charting the life of the star of The Seven Year Itch. The exhibition was scheduled to tour the world with an exhibition to be held in Tokyo, Japan after the Prague showing was completed.
