McDonald’s Announces Premiere of Three New Quarter Pounders

The fast food wars are heating up as fast food giants continue to revamp their menu offerings to attract more customers. McDonald’s this week announced it was adding three new Quarter Pounder hamburger varieties to its menu options as replacements for its one-third pound Angus Burgers. Marketing experts at the gigantic fast food chain have discovered that customers are searching for burger options offered at a lower price point than premium burgers.

The Angus Burgers are the most expensive McDonald’s menu offering, ranging between $4 and $5 each.

The new Quarter Pounders will include a Deluxe version, a Bacon and Ranch version along with a Habanero Ranch offering to appeal to the growing number of Latin American customers who frequent the Golden Arches.

Officials at the chain’s Illinois headquarters reveal that the new burger varieties will be rolled out nationally just in time for the start of summer at its 14,000 locations throughout America. The new Quarter Pounder options will be served on a bun featuring a higher volume of whole grain than regular quarter pounders.

The new burger offerings, in addition to being cheaper for the customer, will also be less expensive for McDonald’s to produce since they use less beef.
