Actor Chris Pine Speaks of Cyclone of Insanity Surround Lindsey Lohan

In the upcoming January 10 issue of US Weekly, actor Chris Pine, who plays the character of Captain James Tiberius Kirk, spoke of his involvement in the 2006 film “Just My Luck” starring opposite then 18-year-old Lindsey Lohan. The film itself was a romcom which didn’t fare well at the box office grossing $38 million on a budget of $28 million. Roughly one fourth of the budget was to cover Lohan’s fee for accepting the role.

Speaking of that time, Pine, who was not well-known, marveled at what he termed was a “cyclone of insanity” surrounding the actress. Lohan was at the peak of her career following her successful film “Mean Girls”. Pine said he saw the good and bad that follows a successful actor/actress. It is interesting how in the years following that role, Pine’s star power has risen with the successful reboot of the Star Trek franchise. The first film “Star Trek” grossed $385 million on a budget of $150 million. The follow-up film “Star Trek Into Darkness” grossed $467 million on a budget of $190 million. At the same time, Lohan has been booked into numerous venues, but they have borne names like “hoosegow”, “county lockup”, “slammer”, and “psyche ward”.
