Amanda Bynes Competent To Stand Trial For 2012 DUI Arrest

Amanda Bynes Competent to Be Tried

In bad news disguised as good news, troubled young actress Amanda Bynes has been found mentally competent by the Los Angeles mental health department last month. This may be a sigh of relief to those who had become increasingly troubled by the “Amanda Show” star’s peculiar and alarming behavior over the last few years. On the down side for Bynes, this move now allows her to be able to stand trial for the DUI charge that she received back in the summer of 2012. The incident from last August also saw the actress get charged with several counts of hit and run and a citation for driving on a suspended license.

The drunk driving incident was only one of several troubling acts from the former child star. She had been sending out very strange and combative messages via her social media accounts and ran into trouble with the law multiple times culminating with her starting a fire near her house and garage. After things were out of control, the mother of the actress was then granted legal power of attorney over the 27 year-old Bynes.

Plenty of loyal fans still support the actress and wish the best for her going forward. She built up a rabid fan base of tweens in the 1990s with her films such as “She’s the Man” and “Hairspray”.
