‘America’s Next Top Model’ director James Howe Killed in home invasion

On the night of November 27th, what the neighbors thought to be firecrackers or perhaps their neighbor banging or hammering turned out to be gunshots. At about 10:55 a.m.at the home of TV writer-director James Marcus Howe, a lone man posed as a salesman knocked on the door. Howe and his wife answered the door only to be forced back into the home they shared with their 6 year old son by two men and a woman.

After what appears to be a short struggle one of the assailants pulled out a gun and shots were fired striking both Howe and his wife. James Marcus Howe was fatally wounded and died on the scene. His wife was also seriously injured and was taken to the hospital. Their son escaped the incident unharmed.

LAPD Deputy Chief Jose Perez Stated “The victims were completely innocent. No connection could be found between them and their attackers.” According to Perez the attacks seem to be random. The suspects are described as 2 black males and a black female and fled the scene in a dark mustang.

The larger Glassell Park neighborhood where Howe and his family moved into their home a few months ago has suffered 167 property crimes and 21 violent crimes within the last 6 months.

The couple’s 6-year-old son wasn’t harmed.
