Candice Swanepoel to Wear $10 Million Fantasy Bra
This year’s annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is set to unveil the 2013 Fantasy Bra, a stunning creation worth $10 million to be modeled by Candice Swanepoel in the runway show.
Fashion sources report that the jewel-studded bra that Swanepoel models in the show will have the highest price tag of any Fantasy Bra ever featured by Victoria’s Secret. Among the lucky women who have been chosen as Fantasy Bra models in the past are Heidi Klum, a longtime staple of the hit reality fashion series “Project Runway”, and Miranda Kerr.
The stunning bra was created to mold specifically to Swanepoel’s figure. She admits that although she knew the bra would be gorgeous, she says seeing the real bra in person took her breath away.
“They had to mold my body to be able to make the bra and I was really excited,” Swanepoel tells PEOPLE. She went on to say, “I tried to imagine after they’d done the mold, how would they make it, how it would look. My imagination didn’t do it justice. My favorite part is this beautiful 52-carat pear-shaped ruby!”
At the centerpiece of the unique piece of lingerie is a 52-carat ruby cut in a classic pear shape.
Jeweler Mouawad took charge of designing the 2013 Fantasy Bra, decorated with more than 4,000 precious stones including yellow sapphires and blood red rubies. Being able to wear this year’s Fantasy Bra is the second exciting chance given to Swanepoel by VS, who earlier this year was selected as the model to grace the cover of the VS Swim Catalog issue.
